Collection: Spray Collection

Hand made and hand painted tiles inspired by William De Morgan.

The UK has a rich history in tube-lined tiles which were first created in the Victorian era. A raised edge of liquid clay is drawn onto the tile before it is glazed, these borders create a space in which the coloured glaze can sit. The result is wonderful pools of colour with varying degrees of translucency, similar to stained-glass.

This particular design of a spray of leaves was inspired by the natural forms used by the ceramic designer, William de Morgan.
